GENERAL
INFORMATION
The
CJF Ministries package price includes all taxes, fees, and gratuities. It does
not include lunches, passport fees, drinks, laundry, and other items of a
personal nature. Accepting substitute participants for those who cancel will be
at the discretion of CJF Ministries and based on airline ticketing
considerations.
By joining a Live the Land trip, you are
agreeing to refrain from any conduct that may have a negative impact on the
trip including, but not limited to: (1) use of alcohol (2) use of illegal drugs
(3) use of profanity (4) immodest apparel (5) sexually inappropriate behavior.
Participation in Live the Land also
constitutes an agreement to abide by any and all rules set forth by Live the
Land staff, to submit to the authority of the staff, and to abide by their
decisions on any matters that may arise during the course of the trip.
Any participant failing to adhere to these
or any other rules may be sent home early at their own expense, at the
discretion of the tour leaders.
Certain portions of the tour may be
filmed and/or photographed for promotional purposes. Participation in a Live
the Land trip constitutes an authorization on the part of the participant to
authorize CJF Ministries and its agents to photograph/film/videotape and sound
record the participant in the context of activities associated with the tour.
By participating in a Live the Land trip, the participant assigns all rights to
the photographs/films/videotapes and sound recordings made of the participant,
and the participant authorizes the reproduction, copyright, broadcast, and/or
distribution of said material for use in CJF Ministries publications and/or
broadcasts.
CJF Ministries has been taking tour
groups to the Middle East since 1991 and the safety of our tour participants
has always been one of our highest priorities. We go to great lengths to ensure
that anyone traveling with a CJFM tour has the safest and most enjoyable
experience possible. Fortunately, the Israelis have some of the best
security—both on land and in the air—in the world. So it’s not surprising that
over the years, we have never experienced a serious, security-related problem
on any of our tours. Nonetheless, there are certain risks associated with
traveling in this part of the world (just as there are in many other regions of
the world), and when you apply to join a “Live the Land” tour, you are
voluntarily assuming these risks.
RESERVATIONS

CJF
Ministries requires that all tour participants secure their reservations for
the Live the Land Tour by making a $500 deposit, payable to their official tour

INSURANCE
Trip cancellation insurance is not required and is not included in the tour
price; however, we strongly recommend that tour participants secure a policy
that protects themselves in the event of an unforeseen issue prior to the tour.
Due to our own obligations as a tour operator, we must adhere strictly to the
graduated scale of pre-tour cancellation penalties (see Cancellations below).
Companies like Travelex (www.travelex.com/us/personal/travelinsurance.asp) and
AIG TravelGuard (www.travelguard.com) are well-known and trusted in the travel
industry. There are a number of other companies, as well, with a wide range of
prices, so many people like to comparison shop (www.insuremytrip.com). Also,
some credit cards offer travel protection if you use that card to pay for the
tour. In any case, the traveler is responsible for doing the research, making
choices, and arranging for appropriate coverage. If you need further assistance
or advice, feel free to email Cindy at CindyC@cjfm.org or call her at (210) 226-0421,
Ext. 110, during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) in the Central
Time Zone.
TOUR PARTICIPATION
Every tour participant must be in possession of a current passport and ensure
it does not expire within six months of the travel dates. Vaccinations of any
kind are not required by law. No visa is required of US citizens for entry into
Israel. A group visa will be obtained for entry into Jordan. Final payments to
CJF Ministries are required of all participants sixty (60) days prior to departure
and may be made by check, money orders, or credit cards. Payment arrangements
can be made by calling (800) 926-5397.
CANCELLATIONS
Tour participants are subject to the following cancellation penalties, as
stated below, if they cancel their reservations following final payment:
Sixty-one (61) days or more prior to
departure: a full refund
Sixty (60) days to thirty (30) days prior to departure: $250
Twenty-nine (29) days to one (1) day prior to departure: $1,000
No-show on day of departure: one hundred percent of tour cost.
While airfare is generally nonrefundable,
it may be reusable toward future travel. Typically, airlines charge a service
fee plus any fare difference at time of reissue. CJF Ministries will make every
effort to assist in this process but cannot guarantee credit for airfare in the
event of trip cancellation. Again, participants may purchase a policy from a
company like AIG TravelGuard to provide further coverage beyond the basic
policy available from CJF Ministries (as previously described).
IMPORTANT LEGAL INFORMATION
CJF Ministries Inc. and its representatives, directors, employees, and agents
act only as agents for the suppliers (principals) whose identity is disclosed
in the travel documents and vouchers. CJF Ministries assumes no liability for
injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity in connection with the
services of any airplane, motor coach, or any other conveyance used in carrying
out these tours-or for the acts or defaults, financial or otherwise, of any
company or person engaged in conveying the participant or in carrying out the
arrangement of the tour. CJF Ministries shall not be responsible, and does not
assume any liability, for breach of contract or any intentional or careless
actions or omission on the part of suppliers, or any person or entity rendering
any other services included in the tour, which may result in any loss, damage,
delay, or cancellation due to sickness, pilferage, labor disputes, mechanical
or construction difficulties, war, quarantine or diseases, social or labor
unrest, government restraints, terrorism, weather, or any other cause beyond
their control. By embarking upon his/her travel, the participant voluntarily
assumes all risks involved with travel to the Middle East, whether expected or
unexpected. The participant is hereby warned of such risks. In view of
statutory or contractual limitation that may apply to personal injury or
property losses, the purchase of personal or baggage insurance is strongly
recommended (see “Insurance” on this page). Such insurance is the sole
responsibility of the tour participant. CJF Ministries shall not be liable for
any loss or damage to person or baggage caused by suppliers. Your retention of
tickets, reservations, or bookings after issuance shall constitute a consent to
the above. By forwarding deposit, the participant certifies that he/she does
not have any mental, physical, or other condition or disability that would
create a hazard for him/herself or other participants. CJF Ministries reserves
the right to decline to accept or to decline to retain any person as a member
of any tour should such person’s health, actions, or general deportment impede
the operation of the tour or the right or welfare or enjoyment of other
participants. CJF Ministries reserves the right to cancel or change
itineraries, or to substitute services without notice.
Selecting “I agree” constitutes an agreement by
the participant to abide by the above terms, conditions, and requirements.
